State House District 65
*I am excited to announce my candidacy for Indiana State House of Representatives District 65. I graduated from Mitchell High School in 2004 and was accepted into the Pipefitters Apprenticeship Program where I completed my apprenticeship and received an Applied Science degree through Ivy Tech Community College. I am employed by Harrell Fish Incorporated as a union pipefitter. I am married to Brandi (Holt) and she is a real estate agent at RE/MAX Real Estate Center. We live in Bedford with our son, Nolan.
I was elected Chairman of the Lawrence County Democratic Party Central Committee in 2013. I have been involved in politics for most of my life through both of my parents. My mother, Kim Leonard was deputy Clerk Treasurer of Mitchell for over 17 years under 2 different administrations. My father, Jack Woods is a 38 year UAW member at General Motors in Bedford. Growing up I was always knocking on doors for candidates, walking in parades, stuffing envelopes, or working the polls. Since being elected Chairman, the committee and I have worked to provide choices to the voters on election day. We are very proud of the way the party has conducted itself, and keeping what’s best for the county is always our main goal. I am a member of Masonic Lodge 228 in Mitchell and also a member of the LA-OR-MA Shrine Club. I love these organizations because of what they stand for and take great pride in being a member of both. My family and I are eager to meet the great people of District 65 and look forward to earning your support.
