Today is the last day to register for the May Primary Election. As the RFRA demonstrated, there is a lot at stake in this election. It is crucial that we elect strong Democratic leaders to ensure that we continue moving Indiana forward. I am writing today to ensure that your voter registration is up to date and remind you to vote on May 5!
In 2014, Indiana had the lowest voter turnout in the entire nation. The result: a Republican supermajority was swept into the Indiana legislature. We know that when Democrats show up to vote, we win. On May 5, we have an opportunity to keep Monroe County moving in the right direction by voting for Democrats in the primary. From the Mayoral primary to City Council primaries, to other municipal races, there is a lot at stake for Bloomington and Monroe County on May 5.
If you are not already registered, do so now! You can register online on the Secretary of State’s website. I encourage you to read up on all of our great Democratic candidates, attend a debate or forum between now and Election Day, and make sure that your family, friends, and neighbors are registered. Thank you for everything you do. I look forward to continue working together to elect Democrats in November!
