Democratic candidate for county treasurer calls for regular meetings of elected financial officials as they work to restore the public’s trust in county government.
Jessica McClellan, county deputy assessor, said she encourages financial elected officials, including the county commissioners and county council members to join the treasurer’s department as she plans to work on improvement and cooperation in the office.
She said it has been discouraging the reports of troubles in the county financial offices and if elected treasurer she hopes to change that in the future.
“It’s just time for our elected officials to focus on working together, preventing mistakes, and thinking ahead as a team,” McClellan said in a press release. “We all need to be problem solvers who use our institutional knowledge to prevent errors, save time and money, and provide exemplary customer service.”
