Letter: A teamwork approach

A teamwork approach

To the editor:

Terri Porter will be an outstanding auditor for Monroe County. I have known Terri for over 25 years. Her experience as a small business owner, director of the Bloomington Urban Enterprise Association and administrator for a federal agency shows she has the ability to honestly and carefully manage Monroe County government’s money. Having worked with Terri, I know that she is trustworthy and honest — a person of the highest integrity.

Terri’s career has included jobs managing large budgets.

In her role as an administrator for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, she oversaw billions of dollars in five Midwestern states.

Terri’s experience will enable her to make the auditor’s office a well-run department that has the trust of local citizens.

When my company worked with Terri, she made it easy for people from different organizations to partner with the Enterprise Association. I expect she will bring that same teamwork approach to county government.

Over the last 30 years, I have had the opportunity to work with hundreds of local officials throughout the Midwest. I know of no one who is better qualified to serve the people of Monroe County as auditor than Terri Porter.
