Granger seeking re-election to City Council District 2

After thoughtful consideration, I have filed candidate papers to run again for Bloomington City Council, District 2. I have served on City Council since 2012 and worked hard as a council representative. I believe I have made a difference and would like to continue this work.

I believe all issues require thoughtful consideration and, while people may not agree with every decision I have made, I believe they know that I am thoughtful and very open to listening to what residents have to say.  I do my research and do not make decisions lightly.

I have served as Vice President of the Council and continue to serve as Council representative to the Bloomington Economic Development Corporation (BEDC), Council Sidewalk Committee and am looking forward to returning to the Jack Hopkins Social Services Committee in 2015.  I am the Development Director for WFHB Community Radio and also serve on the advisory board for the Monroe County Youth Council. I am the Vice Chair for Democracy for Monroe County and continue to be very active with the Democratic Women's Caucus.  I am a volunteer escort for Planned Parenthood here in Bloomington.

For this campaign, I want focus on issues that directly impact residents including access to services, affordable housing, and issues that impact quality of life.  I hope to be able to connect residents to the resources available and work with my council colleagues for better resources (such as affordable housing).  I will advocate for the humane treatment of animals (stop the deer kills, move toward no-kill animal shelter, etc.) and stand strong for sustainability and environmental concerns.

I am looking for a few good volunteers to help me with my primary campaign; I want to run a strong campaign to thwart any efforts by the Republicans to put forth a candidate.  (District 2 has traditionally been a Republican district.)  Please email me at [email protected] if you have some time and the inclination to help with my campaign.  Thanks!
