Candidate Filing Begins Wednesday January 5, 2022 and end Friday February 4th, 2022 at Noon.

Want to run for something? Let's get you started for 2022.

1. Talk to your party leadership. Your party is here to help all eligible candidates for all offices. MCDP does not endorse in primaries, and can work to help you with the basics and using MCDP resources to get started. Contact [email protected] or a party officer.

2. File Candidate Forms. You will need to file the appropriate forms for the office you are seeking. 2022 State of Indiana forms can be found here.

Precinct Committeeperson

In 2022, Indiana Democrats will elect their precinct committeepersons in their counties. PCPs serve for a four year term. For more information, check out our "About Precinct Chairs" page, and for a full list of current PCPs in Monroe County, check out the "Central Committee" page.

Indiana Democratic Party State Delegate Resources

The Indiana Democratic Party State Convention will be held Saturday, June 18th, 2022 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Monroe County elects its representation to the State IDP Convention by County Council District. You will need to complete forms to run for State Delegate. Those interested in becoming a state convention delegate for Monroe County should file a CAN-37 (download link is below) with the Monroe County Election Board at 401 W 7th St. Suite 100 Bloomington, IN 47404 Filing opens on January 5th and deadline to file is February 4th at noon.

Should not all seats be contested, the MCDP Chair may appoint delegates, but hisorically, Monroe Countians have more candidates than seats available. Monroe County sends 72 delegates to the Convention.
