Patrick Stoffers has announced he will seek a second term on the Monroe County Board of Commissioners, representing District 1. Stoffers was first elected commissioner in 2006 and is in his third year as president of the board.
"The last three years has been particularly productive for the county. Substantive improvements at the jail, Curry Building renovation, remediation of underground storage at the Indiana Creek Volunteers fire station, generator purchase for Bean Blossom Township Fire Department, and our Middle Way House New Wings project funding commitment are but a few of our accomplishments," Stoffers said in a prepared statement. "In 2010 we plan to place an additional 10 warning sirens in the county, construct two additional court rooms at the Justice Building, and begin the next phase of improvements at the jail."
He said he's enjoyed serving as county commissioner and hopes to continue in a second term.
