There’s No Place Like Home: Affordable Housing and Emergency Shelters
The Commission invites the Bloomington community to come and speak openly about their experiences with finding and keeping affordable housing. We want to hear from citizens who own or rent housing as well as those currently in temporary housing/emergency shelters.
Notes from the comments made during this town hall meeting will be used by the commission for future Town Hall meetings on the topic of housing and homelessness. We hope this discussion will lead to thoughtful solutions and guidance for public policy recommendations in meeting affordable housing demands.
The commissioners hope to use this public input to design future town halls on this important topic. As the task force meetings about inclusionary zoning move forward, this town hall should provide rich anecdotal information for our consideration. Please feel free to distribute these flyers among your constituents who can lend to this discussion on affordable housing.
