Nicole Meyer elected Monroe County Coroner

Nicole Meyer swearing in

On Sunday May 31th at 1:30PM the Monroe County Democratic Party held a caucus to elect a Coroner. Jerry Reed resigned effective June 1, requiring a Democratic Party caucus to elect his replacement. At the caucus, Nicole Meyer was elected to serve as Monroe County Coroner. Nicole was sworn into office at the caucus and begins her work as Monroe County Coroner tomorrow on June 1. The MCDP extends its congratulations to Nicole and best wishes for her tenure in office.

We also wish to acknowledge the strong showings and contributions of fellow candidates, Gail Cramer, Bill Brown & Hillard Trubitt. We were proud to have 4 excellent, highly qualified and compelling candidates. Nicole is now our Coroner, but all of the candidates that put their hats in the ring deserve our gratitude for their willingness to serve and their wealth of skill and experience.

Also at the Caucus, Martha Regester was recognized for her continuing service to the Monroe County Democratic Party and to our community at large. Martha was presented with a framed copy of a resolution adopted by the full caucus in her honor.

Further, MCDP Chair, Rick Dietz, outlined ongoing initiatives of the party and plans for coming year.
