I am very excited and since some of you may not know me I thought it would be best if I give you a little introduction about myself ahead of time. I am a Deputy Monroe County Assessor. I have 4 children, a wonderful husband and a very strong love of Monroe County. I've lived here for 20 years. As some of us transplants say, "I'm not from Monroe County but I came here as soon as I heard about it."

I have been working for Monroe County Government for 5 years. I am an Indiana certified Level II Assessor/Appraiser. I have completed 3 of 5 classes towards Level III certification. I am proud to be a graduate of Leadership Bloomington/Monroe County as well as Citizens Academy Bloomington and Citizens Academy Monroe County. I am a past secretary of the Monroe County Women's Commission, and I currently serve on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee of Hoosier Hills Food Bank. I am currently sponsored by the Indiana Democratic Party to take part in their Emerging Leaders training program for Democrats across the state. I graduated from IU in 2000 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism. I moved to Bloomington in 1996 after being accepted into the IU School of Music. I have worked in advertising, furniture sales and as general manager for a local theater company. I have many hours of non-profit classes and volunteer time under my belt with a number of local agencies.

Monroe County Democrats have worked hard to put our principles to work, with a dedication to responsive and transparent local government. I want to keep building on what we have accomplished and bring the Treasurer's Office forward to better accountability, professionalism and high levels of service. An administrative office like the Treasurer's office can only function well if it is managed properly, with efficiency, accuracy and collaboration with the Auditor, County Council and other County departments and taxing units. Fair and equitable collection of taxes and timely revenue distributions are essential to a healthy economy. I have years of experience working inside and outside government, and I know how important it is to do the job right and on time, every time.
