New Albany, Ind. -- J.S. Miller announced his candidacy for Indiana’s 9th congressional district at Floyd County’s Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner on Nov. 20 at the Grand (138 East Market Street) in New Albany.
Miller, a former political strategist, author, and school teacher, is spearheading a coordinated campaign themed “Don’t Sell the Farm.” Kevin Dolan, of Boston, MA has been appointed Campaign Treasurer.
“We are selling our future to the lowest bidder, and ultimately to unelected entities like China.” he said. “One approach pushes the self-destruct button and sells the remains of the farm now. The other pushes off the fire sale to our children through debt later. Each is a terrible proposition,” he emphasized. “What we need now is a degree of realism in America because both of these approaches are essentially hard wiring our children’s future for failure.”
Miller’s legislative priorities will be restoring the electoral process through small dollar funded campaigns, a high speed rail linking Louisville with Indianapolis and Chicago, ending tax loopholes crippling the Federal government, reforming the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to include patient-centered “medical homes,”re-shoring the middle class by creating meaningful well-paying jobs through domestic infrastructure investment, and feeding Indiana children in public schools with healthy, Indiana grown food.
