Linda Sievers

For Office:
Township Trustee - Bloomington

Linda Sievers has announced that she will seek election as Township Trustee for Bloomington Township.

Sievers has served as Bloomington Township Trustee since January 2008. She served as assistant to the Trustee from 2001 to 2004, and as Deputy Trustee from 2004 to 2007. Sievers has 12 years’ prior management experience in both profit and non-profit environments. She holds a degree in social work from Indiana University.

“I am running for Trustee first and foremost because I believe the office of township trustee should remain an elected position directly accountable to taxpayers. That is important because the trustee provides critical emergency services to the neighborhoods and rural residents of Bloomington Township.

“Those services include excellent fire protection and direct assistance such as food and shelter to families experiencing a hardship. The provider needs to be directly engaged in these core services and accountable to the taxpayers who pay for them.

“I believe my nine years’ work for the township – the last two as trustee – give me the essential experience to move the township forward. I pledge to continue to employ best business practices, to provide quality services at the lowest possible cost to taxpayers, to update the fire department’s strategic plan, and to collaborate with other government units and social service agencies to address hunger, affordable housing and poverty in Bloomington Township.”
