Letter: Serving with Kindness
Serving with kindness
To the editor:
Local politics matter, and electing strong local officials is critical for our region. That’s why I am supporting Amanda Barge for Monroe County commissioner in District 3. I have known Amanda for years. We worked closely planning and fundraising for the Women in Government Plaza that now sits on the courthouse square. This experience demonstrated to me her ability to unite people with differing opinions toward a common goal.
In her work and personal life, Amanda has demonstrated commitment to Monroe County — to helping people, to community service and a belief that together we can all make Monroe County one of the best places to live.
One of the key skills Barge brings to her public life is a willingness to roll up her sleeves, work hard and build consensus. A Monroe County native, Barge will draw on her experience to serve county residents with respect and kindness. A lifelong servant for inclusive public policy, Barge has committed herself to creating an environment that promotes transparency and collaboration in all of her work.
Amanda Barge will be a progressive, wise, experienced presence on the county board. Please join me in supporting Amanda Barge for county commissioner on May 3.
