Press Release: Local Dems Offer Rides to Early Voting & Election Day - Starting Oct 12

Bloomington – Volunteers for the Monroe County Democratic Party will be offering rides to the polls for local residents in Monroe County who want to vote early.   The effort is meant to encourage all local residents, regardless of party affiliation, to take advantage of the early vote.

“Early voting is a tremendous resource for our community”, said Patricia Slabach, Deputy Chair for Communications for the Monroe County Democratic Party.  “However, many people aren’t able to take advantage of it possibly due to access to transportation”, she added.

IU Shuttle from the Memorial Union - the voter transport effort includes a shuttle leaving from Indiana Memorial Union Circle Drive 1pm to 5pm every hour on the hour, to transport students and staff from the IU campus to early voting.

Residents who want rides to the polls are encouraged to call/text (317) 556-5789.

Spanish-speaking voters can call (812) 856-8135 or text (206) 388-8375.
