President Trump reversed course and, as usual, left a wake of chaos. Make no mistakethe decision to stop separation of children from their parents was because all of you joined forces with the outcry across the nation. But we are not finished yet. There are conflicting reports about what is happening now at the border, yet it is clear that our government is intent on indefinitely detaining families by fighting its Flores settlement. There are more local events planned to fight the administration's policy. This includes a rally to be held in downtown Indianapolis on June 30th. The Families Belong Together rally will start at 10 a.m. at the Statehouse in Indianapolis

Don't forget about Bloomington's Fourth of July Parade! MCDP plans on having a strong presence at the parade. In the meantime, we are looking for anyone that could help us borrow golf carts for the parade. 9 a.m. Bloomington Community Band plays on the Monroe County Courthouse lawn

10 a.m. Fourth of July Parade begins

11:15 a.m. Parade Awards announced at the reviewing stand, downtown on Kirkwood Avenue

Parade Route:

The parade begins at the corner of Seventh Street and Indiana Avenue, marches west to Walnut Street, north to Eighth Street, west to College Avenue, south to Kirkwood Avenue, east on Kirkwood Avenue, and ends at Indiana Avenue.
