Letter: Exemplary candidates

Exemplary candidates

To the editor:

My wife and I bought property in Monroe County during 1988. We moved to Bloomington in 2004. Having wintered in Sarasota, FL, as snowbirds, however, we did not actively follow local politics here.

Our focus has changed since we sold our place in Florida to avoid being buried in the sand down there. Retaining our same party identification we have been especially interested in several of the primary candidates.

Having read about and having listened to two candidates in particular, we would like to encourage others to consider these two outstanding and exemplary candidates for local office.

Cheryl Munson, at large candidate for the Monroe County Council has proven herself to be a truly service-oriented public servant interested in the welfare of the citizens of Monroe County and Monroe County itself.

Darcie Fawcett has likewise provided convincing evidence that she would be an excellent Circuit Court judge. Her proven record as a deputy prosecutor and her own judicial temperament prove her suitability for the court bench.

We hope that other voters will reach the same conclusions for themselves.
