This candidate has announced that they are no longer actively campaigning for office. However, according to the Indiana Election Code, since the time has passed for a primary candidate to voluntarily withdraw from the primary ballot, the candidate’s name will remain on the ballot and a voter can vote for them in the primary. If the candidate received the most votes, they would win the party’s nomination. The only way a candidate can be withdrawn from the ballot at this time is if that candidate moved out of the election district (Bloomington) or became disqualified to be a candidate under IC 3-8-1-5.
If the candidate should win the primary, they could voluntarily withdraw from the November municipal election ballot by filing the CAN-46 form by noon, July 15 and the party would select a new candidate by caucus for the November ballot.
